The healthcare sector in New Zealand comprises both private and public entities. The standards of the healthcare sector are pretty high. The essential healthcare services are rendered free of cost to all people in the country. The private healthcare sector offers easy access to clinics and private hospitals. There is a huge network of clinics and private hospitals that not only offer quality treatment but also create adequate opportunities for doctor jobs.

The public healthcare systems comprises of primary healthcare units that include primary health organisations, District Health Boards and primary health care units.

The primary healthcare systems comprise out-of-hospital services despite the fact that all of these are not funded by the government. The primary health care service takes into account community health services, and general health practice.

The DHBs or the District Health Boards are sponsored by the government agencies and these are responsible for funding disability and health services. There are as many as 21 DHBs in New Zealand that provide surgical services, public hospitals and provide improved medical services.

The Primary Health Organisations or PHOs are the local structures that are meant for co-ordinating and delivering proper health care services. These units have experienced health professionals, doctors and nurses on board.

The private healthcare system comprises private hospitals that provide all kinds of treatments, specialist services and primary care. The clinics and private hospitals offer elective procedures, testing laboratories, radiology units, recuperative care and general surgical procedures. There are a number of emergency clinics as well that offer quality healthcare services.

The demand and availability of doctor jobs in New Zealand is thus clear. Trained medical professionals from other countries can also apply for these positions and expect a rewarding career in the country if you possess the necessary educational qualification and professional experience.
